Fed: Audit report clears offices of Rudd and Swan=3

He says Mr SWAN did speak briefly to Mr GRANT .. at the request of the Member for Oxley
BERNIE RIPOLL.

But he says there's no evidence the prime minister was aware of the representation
.. or that the treasurer or his office applied any pressure on Treasury to give Mr GRANT
more or better assistance than others.

At the same time the report's found a number of weaknesses in the way Treasury implemented
its industry support scheme Ozcar .. including its record-keeping.

And it says there are serious questions about whether the man who set up the scheme
.. GODWIN GRECH .. had breached the public service code of conduct in disclosing confidential
information to parties outside of the government.

Mr GRECh has admitted he wrote a fake email linking the prime minister's office to
claims of special treatment for Mr GRANT .. and that he showed it to Opposition leader
MALCOLM TURNBULL before appearing at a key Senate hearing.
