Fed: Labor forestry policy lacks clarity, industry says

The timber industry says Labor's new forestry policy will lead to the locking up of more forests.

Labor delegates have endorsed the policy .. which proposes more conservation areas
but reaffirms its support for the Tasmanian Community Forest Agreement.

Forestry organisations say a lack of detail in the policy doesn't give the industry
confidence about Labor's motives.

They say they're worried forestry will be used as a bargaining chip for support from
the Greens in the lead up to the election and beyond.
