Fed: Tas police arrest 10 in crackdown on drunken behaviour

HOBART, Dec 12 AAP - Ten people have been arrested in Hobart for public order offences
as Tasmanian police cracked down on drunken and disorderly conduct.

Tasmanian police said Operation Unite started on Friday and would continue on Saturday night.

"Preliminary figures indicate that public were generally very well behaved and there
was noticeably less aggression shown by hotel patrons in the Hobart CBD and waterfront
areas," a police statement said.

Police said 10 people were arrested for public order offences.

There were no reported assaults in public places.

A number of people were given formal directions to leave the CBD and a number of Liquor
Infringement Notices were also issued, police said.
