CURLIN'S WORK MAY BE HIS FINALE AT SARATOGA.(Sports)

SARATOGA SPRINGS -- In five days, Curlin has his date with thoroughbred racing immortality when he runs in the $750,000 Jockey Club Gold Cup at Belmont Park.

The 2007 Horse of the Year has $9,796,800 in career earnings, and a victory would push him past Cigar's all-time record of $9,999,815, which was set in 1996.

Curlin put in his last major work for the 11/4-mile race at the Oklahoma Training Track on Monday morning, covering a half-mile in 514 5 seconds under regular exercise rider Carmen "Carlos" Rosa.

It may have been the final time Curlin works at the Spa. The 4-year-old colt is scheduled to leave for Belmont today at 10 a.m. and it's doubtful …
